First Northern League Race of the season
A good race day at Porthmadog - our first races for 2011 season

The Northern League races got underway on Sunday May 8th at Porthmadog , with fewer club entries than usual as the Southern League were also racing at Cardigan.

Aberdyfi had seven teams entered at Porthmadog -
two men's teams
Lindsay, Paul, Dylan, Dave Chapman, and Nigel, John, Dave Seabourne, Dai.

two ladies teams
Beth P, Toni, Jude, Beth Eds and Catrin, Rhian, Ceri , Doris.

and three mixed teams
Jude, Dylan, Lindsay, Beth Eds
Nigel, John, Toni, Beth P
Tom, Tim,Ceri, Rhian

Conditions at Porthmadog were pretty tough right from the start with some very strong winds which caused changing conditions throughout the day and some very challenging rowing!

However it was a great day of racing for everyone, with strong competition between the clubs. Our ladies team of Beth P, Toni, Jude and Beth Eds, coxed brilliantly by Ian, won their race and beat Porthmadog ladies by just 2 seconds!

Thanks to Porthmadog Club for hosting an excellent day.

Congratulations to everyone who raced, and also to our great coxes Alun, Ian and Dave Chapman.

Also a big thankyou to Dylan for driving us there and back in the minibus!

We look forward now to the rest of the season!
