More than 8000
competitors were running in the Brighton Marathon on April 10th with over 100,000 spectators lining the streets in the hot and sunny conditions to cheer them on.
Well done to Jude for completing her first ever

" I thoroughly enjoyed my first marathon.... all
that training paid off and the crowd support was amazing and got me through the
I found the first 9 miles very hard and took ages
to get into my stride , but after about 16-17 miles I really started to
enjoy myself! I was very pleased that I didn't 'hit the wall' and
as I was well carb-loaded and hydrated I coped really well with the heat.
It was a great idea to have my name on my vest - everyone was shouting my name as I passed - it was fantastic!
I want to give a huge thankyou to everyone for all the
support I've had during training and of course thank everyone who sponsored me
and gave so generously to The Royal London Society for the Blind.
Thanks to all the donations I have raised over £700, and donations can still be made at
Even though I am aching at the moment , I really did
enjoy the whole experience and may even be tempted to run another marathon!!"
