Congratulations to Rhian Jones who completed the Eryri-Snpowdonia Marathon on October 30th in a time of 4hrs 16mins and 50 secs. This was an excellent time for Rhian who was running in her first ever marathon.
" I have been running for ten years now , " said Rhian, "and have competed in a few half marathons,- including the local Craig yr Aderyn in its last year, and also the Great North Run and the Cardiff half marathon- but I had never taken part in a marathon before, so the Eryri-Snowdonia Marathon was a big challenge for me."
"The weather on the morning of the marathon was extremely wet, and throughout the run we experienced all weathers, including a huge hail storm on the last 4 miles! I managed to finish in 4hrs,:16:50, a time I was very pleased with as I'd set myself a target of between 4hrs and 4hrs 30mins. The support along the way was absolutely fantastic, and a huge thanks must go to all the marshalls and cadets along the course for standing out in horrific weather. I must thank all my family and friends for their support throughout the training and on the day, and thanks to all who kindly sponsored me for the North West Cancer Research Fund and to date I have raised almost £700."
Well done Rhian!
