A fantastic day of racing was held on the Dyfi estuary on Sunday, May 29th when Aberdyfi Rowing Club was host to crews from both the Southern and Northern Leagues of the Welsh Sea Rowing Association under brilliant blue skies.
Our chairman, Nigel Pearson said, "Once again it was great to see so many boats out on the Dyfi estuary for our regatta this year. What perfect weather for a change! The hot Bank Holiday weather brought crowds to the beach and our regatta took place in fantastic conditions, providing an exciting spectacle for everyone to watch.”
“ Conditions were calm with boats racing on an incoming tide with a light easterly wind causing a force 2 sea breeze.”
“ This meant that most of the races were able to go out to the bar and back and the men’s course was able to go out as far as the outer buoy.”
" We were very pleased to see a number of junior teams taking part again this year - among
them two crews from Aberdyfi which is very encouraging for our club."
" We had great results again this year with with winning crews in both the
men's, ladies and also the junior races."
" Thanks must go to all competitors and their supporters for travelling from all parts of Wales to
compete at Aberdyfi and congratulations to everyone who took part today."
“ Thanks of course to the Yacht Club and the RNLI and to our brilliant caterers - Sonia Wellard in
the Yacht Club and all our volunteers selling teas and coffees in the RNLI
station - and to everyone who helped to make the day so successful - in particular the race officials, race scrutineers, the Lifeboat and SafetyBoat crews."
" We look forward to seeing everyone again at the next regatta!"
