Our ARC member Kirsty Sanders, coached by Alun Stedman, has won the Ladies Double Gold Medal together with Rosie Clayton from Towie Rowing Club at the Irish Open Coastal Championships held in Arklow, County Wicklow, Southern Ireland, on Saturday and Sunday , 19th and 20th of September.
This was an event for sculling boats.
Five crews, all doubles, coached by Alun Stedman of Aberdyfi Rowing Club, and made up of rowers from all over Wales went over to Ireland.

"Winners of the ladies double gold medal were Kirsty Sanders of Aberdyfi with Rosie Clayton of Towy Rowing club."
"In rough overcast conditions they led almost all the way around the 5 kilometre rectangular course, winning by over 100 meters. They showed great skill and adaptability to overcome different wave and wind conditions to steer around the course."
"Two more bronze medals were won by members of the squad."
