fantastic day of racing was held on Sunday, May 24th when we were
host to crews from both the Southern and Northern Leagues of the Welsh
Sea Rowing Association for our Rowing Regatta.
Rowing Club chairman, Nigel Pearson said, "Once again it was great to
see so many boats out on the Dyfi estuary for our regatta this year,
especially as the weather did not look too promising at first".
The rain thankfully eased before the start of the first race but
conditions were still fairly challenging for racing with boats pitching
in a lively sea further into the course towards the turns -which
provided some tough but exciting rowing at times!"
We were very pleased to see a number of junior teams taking part this
year, among them two crews from Aberdyfi which is very encouraging for
Aberdyfi Rowing Club is particularly pleased with the results with
winning crews in both the men's, ladies and also the junior races."
Thanks must go to all competitors and their supporters for tavelling
from all parts of Wales to compete at Aberdyfi and congratulations to
everyone who took part today."
of course to the Yacht Club and the RNLI and to our brilliant
caterers - Matt Wood and his team and Sally and her team - and to everyone who helped to make
the day so successful - in particular the race officials, race
scrutineers, the Lifeboat and Safety Boat crews."
" We look forward to seeing everyone again at the next regatta!"
"Special thanks to our Social Committee for organising a most enjoyable evening's entertainment after the regatta - with great food, great music from Pretty Visitors and great company!"
