Many ARC members are keen runners and the Merionnydd Running Club welcomes any of us who want to join them on Wednesday evenings.
The Club meets very Wednesday at 18.15 at Dolgellau Leisure Centre and usually go for a 60 minute run. Now the evenings are dark they use headtorches and reflective gear.
We are all trying to keep fit now that winter is almost upon us and our training and social rowing evenings are no longer possible.... Running with a group can be sociable and fun and a great way to keep up our fitness - especially when there is no Celtic Challenge to train for and keep us motivated!
Three of our ARC members - Dylan Evans, Dave Seabourne and Dave Rice - represented Merionnydd Running Club in the over 50's 6 man team in the British Fell Running Championships Relay in Church Stretton on Sunday, October 14th.
Dave Rice reported, " It was a crisp and pleasant day and the running conditions were very good. There were altogether 154 6-person teams, competing in the event over 38.5km. This was a massive organisational effort by th hosts - The Mercai Fell Runners Club.
The Merionnydd team finished 9th in their age group in a time of 6 hours and 2 minutes."
