recently acquired a new boat for the club - a Grebe coxed double which can be
converted to a triple very easily by changing the cox's seat for an
additional sculler's seat.
Dave Rice said " This new double scull will be a very valuable asset
for our club. With the advantage of having a cox's seat the Grebe will be used
a lot for training purposes."
"The design reflects features from both river-boats and sea-boats. This will
enable our young members to train and be coached for selection by their
University Rowing Teams and National Teams. It will also be a great training
boat for those who wish to progress to National and International Sea Rowing
"It doesn’t all have to be about hard work and training however –
the Grebe is a very good recreational rowing boat and ideal for trips in coastal
