This was the third time Rhian has taken part in the Snowdonia Marathon Eryri and second time round forTom.
" I really enjoyed my run " said Rhian. " There were over 2,000 entries this year and it is an amazing experience to be part of such a huge event."
"A lot of pople were wearing pink this year to show support for April
Jones and all our race names were in pink. I had been asked to run
in a special 'April Jones T-shirt' and Tom was running this year to raise money for Cancer Research Wales."
" Conditions in the morning were ideal for running. The weather was crisp, sunny and clear - so the views were fantastic. It was quite cold- which is fine for everyone running - but a bit chilly for the spectators I would imagine!"
"The atmosphere at the start was brilliant. We set off at 10.30 and the support all along the way from spectators and marshalls really gave you a good boost exactly when you needed it! Near the end people were handing out biscuits and jelly babies - great !!"
" The first thirteen miles I really enjoyed , but then you think "I've got to do that distance all over again now!" and mile 18 - 20 I found a bit tough as my feet started to hurt - I think I need new trainers! - but a few cheers from spectators and the amazing views got me going again! "
" Tom and I hadn't been able to do as much training as last year so I was
pretty pleased with my time of 4 hours, 34 minutes and 58 seconds and
Tom had a great time of 3 hours, 44 minutes and 30 seconds."
"Knowing that I wasn't going to be able to achieve a PB this year meant that I could really enjoy the race a bit more. The scenery and views along the route couldn't have been better. It really was a perfect, beautiful day."
" I always say at the end of the race "never again!" but then after a bit I say... " well - maybe..... "
